Boes Gosche, Inc. was started in April of 1983 by Rick Boes and Greg Gosche. Relying on Rick’s experience and excellent reputation as a carpenter, the company primarily performed construction contracting for the first few years. As the company gained recognition, Greg, trained as an electrician, began building a client base for electrical contracting as well. Beginning in 1991, Boes Gosche began a working partnership with Wayne Homes and began working throughout Northwest Ohio as an electrical contractor.
In early 1993, Rick Boes left the firm to pursue a career with Wayne Homes, and the decision was made at that time to concentrate solely on electrical contracting. As the company grew in size and scope, a building lot was purchased in Carey, Ohio, and in January of 1995, construction began on a 2100 sq. ft. shop and office building. A 650 sq. ft. addition was added in 1998 and an adjacent lot was purchased in 2000. In 1998 the company ventured into commercial electrical work in an effort to diversify and expand. Much of our early involvement in commercial electrical contracting was due in large part to a meeting, arranged by Greg’s brother Jim, with Todd Garlock of Garlock Bros. Construction in Findlay, Ohio.
To this day, both companies enjoy a close working relationship which has resulted in the successful completion of many design/build projects in Northwest Ohio. With the start of a new year in January of 2000, longtime employee Paul Boes accepted an offer to become a full partner in the firm, and quickly became a valuable asset as a member of the management team. As the company continued to expand, and due to space limitations at the Carey facility, an 11 acre site at the corner of US 23 and US 224 was purchased in March of 2001, and planning began for a new 12,000 sq. ft. facility. Construction began in late 2001 and was completed in June of 2002.
The new structure was initially used for storage and warehousing until September 2005 when the offices were moved to the new facility. A long time goal of the company was realized when Bob Wachtman, owner of Wytech, Inc., in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, agreed to sell his security and fire alarm business and take the position of Division Manager to oversee the merger and help with the transition. This division of Boes Gosche is now housed in the Carey facility. An immediate effort began to expand the product line of the new division to include access control, video, emergency call systems, emergency power systems, and systems integration.
Today, Boes Gosche, Inc. is proud to serve Northwest Ohio with its experienced staff and quality products. We hope you’ll consider us for your future electrical and life safety needs.
